Chock the front wheels.

Remove the RH rear trunk trim (refer to
procedure).

Disconnect the harness from the top port of the electric parking brake controller
inside the vehicle. Connect this harness to the gray male connector on the harness
tool.

Connect the gray female connector on the harness tool to the outboard port on the
reworked EPB controller.
Note: The center port on the reworked electric parking brake controller is not used
in this method.
Caution: Ensure that the external 12V power supply is turned off before
continuing this procedure. The clamps on the harness tool are not insulated.

Connect the positive and negative clamps on the harness tool to the corresponding
terminals on the external 12V power supply. Ensure that the positive and negative
clamps do not touch each other.

Turn on the 12V power supply.
Caution: After the next step, the vehicle will be free-rolling. Ensure that
the wheel chocks are secure.

Hold down the button on the harness tool that is labeled “RELEASE” until the sound
of the caliper motor is no longer audible. This usually takes approximately 4
seconds.
Note: If the calipers do not release, turn off the 12V power supply, then turn it
back on. Repeat step 7.

Turn off the 12V power supply.

Remove the positive and negative clamps from the 12V power supply.

Disconnect the harness tool from the electric parking brake controller inside the
vehicle.
Caution: Do not reconnect the vehicle’s harness to the electric parking
brake controller inside the vehicle until the vehicle has arrived at its
destination. Reconnecting the harness might cause the electric parking brake to
re-engage.
