Warning: If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle.
  1. Loosen the wheel lug nuts.
  2. Put the vehicle in Tow mode.
  3. Remove the wheel (refer to procedure).
  4. Secure the tool to the vehicle:
    • Front rotor: Clamp the tool to the tie rod nut.
    • Rear rotor: Clamp the tool to the head of the bolt that secures the integral link to the lower control arm.
  5. Measure the runout in 3 places:
    • Front rotor: 10, 25, and 40 mm from the outer edge of the rotor
    • Rear rotor: 15, 30, and 45 mm from the outer edge of the rotor
    1. Adjust the alignment arm so that it is perpendicular to the rotor at the first measurement location listed above.
    2. Rotate the fine adjustment dial so that the probe touches the rotor with minimal pressure.
    3. Press the Zero button on the tool.
    4. Turn the rotor one full revolution. While turning the rotor, monitor the gauge on the runout tool. Record the highest positive and lowest negative numbers.
Note: The total runout is the difference between the highest positive and lowest negative numbers.
    5. Repeat steps 5a-5d for the other 2 measurement locations.
    6. Refer to General Information > Technical Data > Brakes for the maximum allowable lateral runout.
