Garnish - Fender - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal

Air suspension vehicles: Set the air suspension to the "Very High" setting.
Release the push clips (x7) and nut that secure the front of the front wheel arch liner to the body (torque 6 Nm).

Tip: Adjust the angle of the tires as necessary to access the push clips and nut.
Carefully move the front of the wheel arch liner away from the working area.
Remove the bolts (x2) and push clip that secure the front of the fender garnish to the wheel fairing (torque 1.5 Nm).

Starting from the rear, carefully pull the fender garnish away from the vehicle to release the heart flex clips (x5) that secure it to the vehicle.

Caution: The parking distance sensor is still connected to the harness; do not attempt to remove the fender garnish at this point.

Disconnect the parking distance sensor electrical connector.

Remove the front fender garnish from the vehicle.
Carefully release and remove the retaining ring from the fender garnish.
Carefully use a pick to release the stab clip from the front of the rocker panel molding.

Use a magnet to remove the stab clip from the rocker panel molding. Discard the stab clip.

Caution: This part is a one-time use component.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Caution: Replace any broken clips.

Install a new stab clip:
1. Use a magnet to maneuver the stab clip into place.

2. Use a pocket screwdriver to secure the stab clip to the front of the rocker panel molding.

3. Ensure that the stab clip is fully secured to the rocker panel molding.

If necessary, release the parking distance sensor from the fender garnish and transfer it to the new fender garnish.
