Rear Oil Seal - Differential to Halfshaft Assembly - Large Drive Unit - LH (Remove and Replace)

Note: Technicians may use this tool or equivalent.

Remove

  1. If there is any evidence of fluid leakage, drain the fluid from the drive unit (refer to procedure).
    Caution: It is not possible to accurately check the fluid level in the drive unit. To ensure the proper amount of fluid is present, the fluid must be removed and the correct amount of fluid added if there is any evidence of leakage.
  2. Release the LH halfshaft from the transmission (refer to procedure).
  3. Use the seal puller or an equivalent tool to remove the seal from the drive unit.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
