Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace)

Warning: "Jack mode" must be activated on vehicles with air suspension before lifting the vehicle. Failure to do this might lead to suspension damage and could cause serious personal injury.
Note: Vehicles with air suspension might need the suspension to be set to "High" or "Very High" to allow the vehicle to be positioned and supported correctly on a vehicle lift.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle (refer to procedure).
    Warning: Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.
  2. On both sides of the vehicle, remove the bolts (x2) that secure the wheel arch liner to the mid aero shield (torque 4 Nm).
  3. Remove the bolts and washers (x11) that secures the mid aero shield to the rear fascia (torque 4 Nm).
  4. If equipped, remove the bolts and washers (x4) that secures the mid aero shield to the bracket (torque 4 Nm).
  5. Remove the bolts (x3) that secures the mid aero shield to the body (torque 4 Nm).
  6. On both sides of the vehicle, remove the fastener that secures the shear plate to the subframe (torque 35 Nm).
    Note: Move the shear plate away from the working area.
  7. Remove the mid aero shield from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
