Wheels - Vehicle - Set (Remove and Install)

FRT No: 34012501

Warning: "Jack mode" must be activated on vehicles with air suspension before lifting the vehicle. Failure to do this might lead to suspension damage and could cause serious personal injury.
Note: Vehicles with air suspension might need the suspension to be set to "High" or "Very High" to allow the vehicle to be positioned and supported correctly on a vehicle lift.

Removal

  1. Position the vehicle on a lift but do not lift it at this time.
  2. If equipped, remove the lug nut covers.
  3. Initially loosen all lug nuts (x20) (torque 175 Nm).
Caution: Do not use an impact wrench to loosen tall lug nuts.
    1 Short lug nut
    2 Tall lug nut
  4. Raise and support the vehicle (refer to procedure).
Warning: Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.
Warning: To avoid personal injury, use appropriate equipment when performing this operation.
  5. For each wheel, remove the lug nuts (x5) and then remove the wheel.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
Caution: Tighten the lug nuts evenly using a diagonal sequence.
Caution: An impact wrench or electric wrench can be used only during the initial threading of the lug nuts. Use a torque wrench to fully tighten the lug nuts.
Caution: Use a 6 point socket to tighten tall lug nuts. Do not use a 12 point socket or a speciality socket on tall lug nuts.
Note: Any time the TPMS sensors are not reinstalled in the same locations (for example, when rotating the tires), perform the TPMS sensor ID learn procedure:
Note: If wheels of a different diameter are installed:
  • Baolong TPMS: Use Toolbox to change the vehicle configuration, then reset the TPMS thresholds (refer to procedure).
  • Continental TPMS: Use Toolbox to change the vehicle configuration.
